The elbow trick
Raw chicken on your fingers, groceries in both arms — and the bin cabinet still needs a hand. So you use a wrist, an elbow, a knee.
Vivani · the small-fix edit
Four small things for the parts of the day that quietly wear you down — the bin cabinet you open with your wrist, the cupboard that’s always damp, the nights you kick the duvet off at 2am.
Sound familiar?
These are the three complaints we kept hearing, and the three things this edit is built around.
Raw chicken on your fingers, groceries in both arms — and the bin cabinet still needs a hand. So you use a wrist, an elbow, a knee.
A slow drip under the sink doesn’t announce itself. It just quietly ruins the base of the cabinet while you’re not looking.
The room is warm, the sleepwear is synthetic, and you’re awake again. Fabric is the fix nobody mentions.
New from Vivani
A four-inch carbon steel bar that mounts under the cabinet door. Hook a toe under it, lift, and the door swings open. No handle, no mess, no setting the shopping down first.
Fits full-overlay or near-full-overlay cabinet doors with at least 0.78 in / 2 cm of clearance beneath the door. Not for inset or recessed doors — there’s a two-second check in the FAQ.
Fitting it
Clean and dry the bottom edge of the cabinet door so the adhesive has something to grip.
Peel the backing, line the bar up with the bottom edge, press firmly and hold.
Prefer permanent? The bar takes screws instead. Renters: you don’t need this step.
The edit
Two we make, two we use and recommend. We’d rather sell you four things that earn their place than four hundred that don’t.

Ten seconds
Two questions. If the answer is no, we’d rather tell you here than after it arrives.
A full-overlay door with room underneath is exactly what the bar is made for. Peel, press, and you’re done in about two minutes.
Shop on AmazonOn inset doors the front sits back inside the frame, so there’s no lip for the bar to lift. It won’t work, and we’d rather say so now than take the order.
The under-sink mat has no fitting requirements at all — it just needs measuring.
See the under-sink matThe bar needs at least 0.78 in / 2 cm of clearance along the bottom edge of the door. Under that and your toe has nowhere to go.
Worth measuring properly before you rule it out — a pencil laid flat under the door is close enough.
Door position: close the cabinet and run a finger down the edge. If the door sits proud of the frame, it’s full overlay and the bar works. If your finger drops into a recess, it’s inset and it doesn’t.
The gap: lay a pencil flat on the floor and slide it under the closed door. If it fits, you have enough room.
Buying from a small shop
You pay Amazon, Amazon ships it, and Amazon’s return window applies. We never see your card and we don’t process the order.
The foot pull doesn’t work on inset cabinet doors. There’s a ten-second check just above, because a return wastes your evening and our margin.

Before you buy
Full-overlay doors with at least 0.78 in / 2 cm of clearance underneath. Not inset or recessed doors, where the door sits back inside the frame.
Run the ten-second check if you are not sure which kind you have.
The foot pull mounts with adhesive, so there’s no drilling and nothing permanent. Screw holes are there if you’d rather make it permanent, but you don’t need them. The under-sink mat and the soap dispensers aren’t fixed to anything either — the dispensers can sit on the counter instead of being wall-mounted.
Because we only list things we make or actually use. Two are ours — the foot pull and the pajama set, both sold by Vivani E-Commerce on Amazon. Two are other brands’ products we recommend, marked “Our pick”, and those links earn us a commission at no extra cost to you.
Every button here takes you to the Amazon listing. You check out on Amazon, with your usual account, payment and returns. We don’t take your card details and we never see them. Prices, shipping and stock are set by Amazon, so the listing is always the source of truth.
It’s food-grade silicone, so it wipes clean and is dishwasher safe. Press one edge to drain it rather than lifting a full tray out of the cabinet. It comes in sixteen sizes and can be trimmed around pipes and corners — measure your cabinet first, and if you’re between sizes, take the smaller one.
